MAKE SOMETHING

i am not a cook or baker, but for this assignment i decided to try something new. i have been craving cheesecake and wanted to take a wack at it, (it doesn’t look great in the picture but it tastes like heaven!) i found a wonderful and easy recipe and it turned out better than i expected. i appreciate the push from this assignment to embrace an acitivty i normally wouldn’t.

MUSIC REVIEW

for my second blog post, i decided to review my favorite album from 2019: GINGER produced by brockhampton. i have been a fan a brockhampton for about 2-3 years now. i decided to stream this album while writing the review.

ironically, brockhampton likes to call themselves a ‘boy band.’ they make rap/pop music, but i wouldn’t call them a boyband. they consist of artists, songwriters, producers, creative specialists, designers, etc. the brand contains at least 15 members, who are all committed to enhancing brockhampton’s success.

this album connected with me on a realistic level. this band is not afraid to express their deep emotions, which is why i connected with them. they have close similarities to tyler the creator, another artist i greatly respect. i saw brockhampton live in november of 2019 and to date they remain my favorite live performance. i have always been a rap fan (e.g. kendrick lamar and ASAP ferg.) brockhampton combines every element of music that i admire. i am genuinely shocked they aren’t viral at this point. they should be.

i tend to edit my pictures with a pink/purple under tone. in my opinion, these colors bring out an aspect of pictures that connect with me. for this picture, i enjoy the fence gap in the middle of the sun’s mouth.

i decided to take a drive around downtown baton rouge on 01/26. i stumbled along this building on terrace street. i thought it was inspiring and an important reminder to the community.

this painting on a house is similar to the picture above. these were right next to each other. i appreciated the detail and meanings behind this art. i consider these a hidden baton rouge gem.
